The LORD is with me; he is my helper. Psalm 118:7
I was up early one morning about 5am, getting ready to go and clean the local cinema. I find I am at my best in the morning. I walked to work, it was still dark outside and the stars were amazing, the small light of the dawn was beginning to appear on the horizon. I live on top of a hill and I could get a good view of the works that God has done…….so many stars.
1 Not to us, O LORD, not to us
but to your name be the glory,
because of your love and faithfulness. Psalm 115:1
It was snowing yesterday morning as I was having coffee at Gloria Jeans. Originally I am from Mt Isa in northern part of Australia where it is a top of 24c in winter! Feeling the cold in Orange of only a top of 6c I sure feel the cold here. Brrrrr the snowflakes were big and they looked beautiful.
5When Jesus looked up and saw a great crowd coming toward him, he said to Philip, “Where shall we buy bread for these people to eat?” John 6:5
I don’t eat much these days, and it is not because I don’t have money, rather it is a choice to live a simple life in abiding in Christ and all other things just don’t seem important anymore. I was offered some lasagna on the weekend and normally I would go wow! Nice!! But it just didn’t interest me. So I gave it to my daughter Gemma…. She loved it!!
Yet you refuse to come to me to have life
– Jesus Christ (John 5:40)
Many years have passed in my life where I thought all was ok, it seemed right and maybe at the time it was, but I reckon I was only hanging on by the skin of my teeth!
Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13
“I have called you friends” verse 15
O Lord I am in pain from things around me, temptations, thoughts and desires that I do not want. Why do these things come to me? I must continue to abide in you Lord, to seek your face and pursue you until the things are gone. Jesus help me through the trials and pains of things that won’t go away. The things that cause the spirit to be down and low.
11 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;
let your glory be over all the earth. Psalm 57:11
On Sunday I was leading worship with another worshiper Angela. We both played acoustic guitars and sang. There was no planning on who should sing high or low or harmonize, but we just worshiped the Lord no matter how we felt. The time of worship was amazing. It just worked!
“Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.” John 15:4
The closer I get to Jesus the more I must have. Day by day being renewed in the strength of the Holy Spirit. There has to be more and more!
